"I'm standing in the basement of the goods receiving area and I hit the empty cardboard box with my fist, so that it folds. I can now put it flat on the big pile with the others. And I do that for three months, five days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
My first job was as an intern and I got paid for it.
I never thought back then that forty years later I would start an artistic journey into paper art in this context. And it began when a large box peeked out of the blue container in the yard, which I wanted to dismantle so that the garbage collectors wouldn't cause trouble. So my first "canvas" made of cardboard was created in several steps.
It had clicked and the connection to the beginning of my professional life, which later developed over 30 years into the design and implementation of corporate events, was back.
But after the final curtain you have nothing left except fading emotions and photography or film.
That was probably my unconscious drive to create something lasting. I just didn't know how. I had tried out a lot live and implemented it successfully. But how do I use my creative potential to develop something "always visible"?
Then I stumbled upon the container and I quickly knew that I could feel at home here: in the recycling of materials and the transfer of them to an art object.
And always new and different. Like at events."
